Artathon Artworks Opening ~ August 30, 2009 @ 2pm SLT

Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Two of Second Life's most recognizable and creative artists invite you to the opening of Artathon Artworks in the Avalon Art District ( on Sunday, August 30th at 2 pm! Artathon is the result of an incredible philanthropic adventure conceived by Filthy Fluno and Winter Nightfire for the Second Life Community Convention (SLCC) in San Francisco earlier this month.

These two amazing, fun and provocative artists took SLCC by storm...armed with paints, pastels and assorted canvases to capture the essence of the art! Sponsored by Avalon Art District and CounterpART Gallery, the pair created a wide-range of abstract art inspired by the event. The works were auctioned off at the end of the convention; raising $1,000 US for the non-profit organization Virtual Ability!

Virtual Ability works to help people with assistive hardware like voice recognition, special styluses and specialized typing determine the best way to access their virtual environment. They provide community members with support and encouragement, training, virtual field trips and more. You can learn more about Virtual Ability at

Please join us in Avalon on the 30th and meet this two fabulous and generous artists and see the amazing works created at the convention!
